Sandra “Sandie” J. Wadler,
It is with a heavy heart that the Wadler family announces the passing of Sandra “Sandie” J Wadler. Sandie passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 7 surrounded by her family. She was born Sandra Joan Jacobs on September 16, 1934, in Philadelphia, PA. She lived an extraordinary life filled with adventure, laughter, and love.
Her life journey started in Philadelphia. Her family moved from Philadelphia to Miami when she was a teenager. Miami Beach is where she met the love of her life, Lenny Wadler. Sandie and Lenny were married in 1952 and were inseparable until his unexpected passing in 1978. The family moved from Miami to Phoenix, AZ in the early 60’s and arrived at their forever home in Indianapolis, IN in 1968 - where they raised their three children Jody, Russ, and Cindy. They loved camping in the family RV and the many friends they made along the way.
She was a lifelong fan of Frank Sinatra and all things music. She loved to dance, sing, and laugh. She took a huge interest in learning about her family’s ancestry, creating family trees, and reconnecting with relatives. She was known for her sense of style and ALWAYS matched from head to toe and NEVER left the house without a full face of makeup. Her beautiful smile would light up a room and will be dearly missed.
Though there were many miles between her and her siblings, Marty, Myron, and Rhoda, they remained close thanks to the wonder of technology. Sharing photos, stories, and memories. She also enjoyed telling stories and sharing memories with her twin granddaughters, Annah and Leah. From 2021-2022, Sandie and Annah wrote a book of Sandie’s favorite memories from her life, which will be cherished by the family forever.
Sandie was predeceased by her husband, Lenny; daughter, Jody; brother, Marty; brother, Myron; mother, Gertrude; father, Edward. She is survived by son, Russ; daughter Cindy; sister, Rhoda; daughter in-law, Lisa (Randy); son in-law Ed (Cindy); granddaughter, Leah; granddaughter Annah and many nieces and nephews.
Her private burial service will take place on October 12, 2023.
Arrangements entrusted to Aaron-Ruben-Nelson Funeral Home.
