Abraham Black

January 21, 1923 — August 4, 2017

At 96 years old, Abraham "Abe" Black lived a long, happy life. He is survived by his loving wife, Rose; daughter, Cheryl (Joe); sons, Sam (Sue) and Marvin (Char); grandchildren, Max (Sarah), Matthew (Bri), Kim (Chris), and Jim; and six great-grandchildren.

Abe and Rose were married for 49 years and enjoyed Friday night dinners and holidays with family. Abe was a very involved grandfather and great-grandfather. His family was one of the great joys of his life.

Abe was a Marine who served in the South Pacific during World War II. He had a long career working for Atlas Office Supplies, retiring as their warehouse manager. He loved to fish and watch sports, especially boxing.

He had a special bond with dogs over the years.

Abe was a kind and gentle person, never saying a bad word about anyone. He did watch too much Fox News, however.

Funeral services will be held at Congregation Etz Chaim, 6939 Hoover Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46260, at noon on Sunday. Abe's family loved him very much and will miss him.

Arrangements entrusted to Aaron Ruben Nelson Mortuary. Friends may leave a memory or message of condolence, by visiting the online obituary at www.arnmortuary.com.
