Alicia Danielle Short,
27, passed away March 18, 2017 in Indianapolis, IN. Alicia was born January 26, 1990, to mother, Winnie (Wren) Coder, and father, Daniel "Danny" Short. Alicia was a beloved granddaughter, sister, dog mommy and friend.
She was best described as a spirited soul even at a young age. Even her 1st grade teacher had to bribe Alicia with candy on the first day to get her to go in the classroom. Alicia was a true little sister always tagging along with her big sis Amber refusing to ever be left behind. Growing up, she developed close friendships with the girls in the neighborhood, always running wild and having a great time. Anyone who was lucky enough to meet her couldn't help but adore her! Her lifelong friend and partner in crime, Jessy, developed a bond that will last forever.
One of her favorite past times was playing volleyball with her extended family. They would gather one night a week all summer long and play until it was so dark they couldn't see the ball anymore. Alicia attended Perry Meridian High school as a teenager. And as an adult she loved to attend family movie days, with her grandma, mom, sister, and aunt. She enjoyed her home life eating her favorite ice cream drumsticks, and spoiling her dog, Sofia. She became quite the homemaker, for her beloved Curtis, a drastic departure of the child her mother and sister knew.
Alicia was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Homer and Ruth Short; and maternal grandfather, Winifred Wren. She is survived by her maternal grandmother, Kathleen Wren; mother, Winnie Coder; father, Danny Short; sister, Amber Steele; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; loving boyfriend, Curtis Howard; dog, Sofia; and all who were lucky enough to have had her touch their lives.
