Alisa Lorraine Garrette

November 2, 1969 — August 3, 2023

Shelbyville

Alisa Lorraine Garrette,

53, of Shelbyville, passed away August 3, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Indianapolis on November 2, 1969 and attended Warren Central High School. Alisa worked many years as a florist, but her life was centered around her family.

Alisa enjoyed life to the fullest and did not waste one minute. Family was her top priority and much of what she did throughout her life was to bring joy to others. She was not only fun-loving but could find happiness in the smallest of things. Alisa loved to play hard and work hard – never shying away from a challenge. Her love for people often had her going out of her way to help others, and she never wanted anything in return. She was a selfless person who found life’s satisfaction in seeing the happiness her floral arrangements could bring to any gathering. Alisa described her outlook on life by saying, “the grass was always green enough”. She cherished what she had in the love of her family and friends and always felt that music and laughter sustained her.

Alisa leaves behind to cherish her memory her mother, Joylene (Dale) Perkins; siblings, Amanda Giddings and Ross (Ashley) Marshall; children, Katie Basey, Tyler Williams and Breanna (Eli) Cross; stepchildren, Chelsea (Matt)Decker, Brittany Keller, and Zachary (Millie) Williams; seven grandchildren (including one she did not get to meet) whom she doted on constantly, Zaiden, Aniyah, Tristan, Adalynn, Lillian and Harrison; and a large and loving extended family.

Alisa wanted to be remembered with laughter and celebration. The family is planning a celebration of Alisa’s life at Southside Turners German Park, 8604 S. Meridian Street, Indianapolis, IN 46217 on Saturday, August 26th from 1 – 5 PM.
