Allan Julius Segal,
87 of Indianapolis, son of Barney & Celia Segal, was born on May 12, 1925, and lived his entire life in Indianapolis. He was married to Elsie (Oppman) Segal for 65 years.
Al is survived by wife; son and daughter-in-law, Elliott & Carol Segal; daughter and son-in-law, Jacqueline & Lee Roy Lawson; three grandsons, Matt and Bobby Segal & Corey Lawson; and one great grandson, Chase Lawson.
Al graduated from Tech High School in 1943. He attended Indiana University before serving the U.S. Army in Japan.
Al and his wife were owners of the Martindale Avenue Big 10 Market from 1952-72. He was also the top salesman at the Style Store for Big & Tall from 1972-92.
Al spent eight years volunteering at St. Vincent Hospital. He was also a member of the Pi Lambda Phi fraternity and 50-year member of Monument Masonic Lodge.
The funeral will be held on Friday (March 15) at Aaron-Ruben-Nelson Mortuary at 11411 North Michigan Road. Visitation begins at 1 p.m., with the service to follow at 2 PM.
