Alyce Quinlan Stewart,
87, passed away on the 28th of November, 2015 at Marquette Manor in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Alyce was born the youngest of five girls to Thomas Arthur and Margaret Quinlan. She lived in Boston until she married George E. Stewart. She and George moved extensively, even abroad to London, for his various jobs, while having and raising seven children.
At the age of 45 Alyce returned to college to finish her degree in Education. She eventually earned her Masters of Education and taught for over 25 years in the Taylor School District in Center, Indiana.
In addition to teaching she volunteered tirelessly at her church, St. Joan of Arc in Kokomo, Indiana. She became a popular Lector and Eucharistic Minister. She also volunteered as a Chaplain at St. Joseph Hospital.
She traveled regularly to visit all her grown children all over the country and even overseas to China. In all her travels her favorite destination was always Cape Cod, Massachusetts, where she had spent many summers as a child and young adult.
She is survived by six children, Chris Stewart, of Louisville, KY., Mo Popper (Michael), of Delray Beach, FL., Lysa Stewart (John Donohue), of Aliso Viejo, CA., Sheila Shook (Daniel), of Morrow, OH., Greg Stewart (Jeanine), of Singapore, Cathleen Stewart of Doylestown, PA.; 16 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held from 3:00pm to 5:00pm on Tuesday, December 15th, at ARN Mortuary, Zionsville, IN. Funeral services immediately following visitation from 5:00pm to 6:00pm.
