Amy Isenhower Pearce
59, died Friday, January 31, 2014 at her home in Zionsville, surrounded by her family.
Amy was born on Sept 2, 1954 in Richmond, IN to the late Garland and Vivian Isenhower. They moved to Portage, MI where she graduated from Portage Northern High School in 1972, prior to attending Butler University and graduating with a degree in psychology in 1976.
Remaining to celebrate her life are her husband of thirty-five years, James Pearce, her son and daughter-in-law, Nick and Erika Pearce, her daughter and son-in-law-to-be, Emily Pearce and Evans Machogu, as well as her brother, Brett Isenhower, and numerous other much-loved extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Matthew Pearce.
Amy worked as a math teacher at Lawrence Central High School, took a break to stay home with her children, then returned to teach at Carmel High School. She loved running, playing tennis, practicing yoga, sitting on the beach at her house in Florida, and caring for many dogs over the years, including her beloved Foo-Foo and Eddie. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
A visitation will be held at Aaron Ruben Nelson Mortuary, 11411 N. Michigan Rd, on Thursday, Feb 6 from 4-7 pm, followed by a service on Saturday, Feb 8 at 3 pm at Advent Lutheran Church of Zionsville.
Memorial contributions may be made to Horizon House, a full service homeless day shelter in Indianapolis.
