Anne McNeil

February 23, 1943 — November 27, 2018

Anne Sullivan McNeil,

Mother, Lover, Friend, Teacher and Navy Wife, slipped into the arms of Morpheus in the early hours of November 27, 2018. Annie called Annapolis, MD home. She grew up there, began her teaching career there, and met her lover and best friend there. Early in life she experienced travel to foreign lands living in London, Naples Italy, Mexico City, and Guatemala. As a Navy wife, we moved so many times she lost count, before settling in San Diego CA for 26+ years. Annie continued her travel adventures visiting Italy, Japan, Korea, France, Scotland, the Caribbean, Mexico, and England along the way. Annie loved to play tennis and two trips to Wimbledon were among her favorites. Annie and her husband had many more adventures planned.

She was an enthusiastic and skilled educator who took the greatest joy in teaching second grade. She taught English as a second language to elementary school students, ran a private school for a couple of years, and served as a teacher's aide for many years. In Annie's case that meant the students had two superb teachers at their beck and call.

Annie will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor, her elegant style, and her superb knack for shopping. She will be missed by her daughters, Camie Aguiar and her husband John of Columbia, SC; Karyn O'Donnell and her husband Shane of Indianapolis, IN; brother, John Sullivan of Eagle Pass, TX; sister, Mae Esh of Salisbury MD; grandchildren, Keegan O'Donnell, Maggie O'Donnell and Ian Douglas; and her furry faced friend, Chance. Most of all, she will be missed by her best friend, Mike.
