Art Mirkin,
94, formerly of Indianapolis and of late Atlanta, passed away on October 7, 2014. Art was an avid pilot, beginning as a Navy flight instructor during WW2 and continued from military to commercial and private. He had a love of life, key lime pie, bossa nova music and a wonderful sense of humor, and was involved in the Jewish communities of Rochester, NY, Indianapolis, IN and Atlanta, GA.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life of 70+ years, Lila Kolko Mirkin, who passed in 2007. Art leaves behind son, Stu Mirkin (Tali) of Meitar, Israel; daughter, Marianne Mirkin Lacoste (Steve) of Culver City, CA; son, Barry Mirkin (Tracy) of Atlanta, GA; daughter, Fern Mirkin of Indianapolis, IN and seven grandchildren, Yael, Yuval, Hagai, Simone, Camille, Deidre and Everett.
A funeral service will be held at 4pm on October 12, 2014 at the B'nai Torah Cemetery in Indianapolis. Arrangements entrusted to Aaron Ruben Nelson Mortuary.
