Arthurine Reason Litiskas was born on October 28, 1929 to Arthur Wesley Reason and Bessie Marrow Reason in St. Louis, Missouri. She departed this life on May 5, 2015.
Arthurine was married to Sterling Litiskas for 49 years before his death. They had one daughter, Soni Litiskas. They moved to Indianapolis in the early 60's for job opportunities.
She graduated from Sumner High School in St. Louis, Missouri and Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Missouri with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Arthurine was a 60 year member of Delta Sigma Theta Inc. She taught Home Economics for several years at Arsenal Technical High School and also worked at Methodist Hospital in medical records. Arthurine loved to sew, crochet, cook and shop. Most of all she loved hearing the WORD being ministered. She was a member of Word of Faith Christian Church.
Arthurine was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Bessie Reason; and sister, Bessie Reason Williams.
Arthurine leaves a host of family and friends to celebrate her life and homegoing. She is survived by her daughter, Soni Litiskas; grandchildren, Whitney Nelson, Sydni Clasby, Derrick Jones, Jasmine McIntosh and Carlynn McIntosh; four great-grandchildren; niece, Donna Kaye Williams; and nephew, James Williams.
Services will be held Saturday, May 9th at 11 AM at Word of Faith Christian Church, 10607 E. 56th Street, in the same building as Agape Christian Church.
