Aubrey Bob (Strader) Goodrich
was born on December 7, 1927 to Roy and Frieda Strader in Terre Haute, Indiana. He was named after his parents' friend Aubrey Boyd. His father died three years later of blood poisoning. Bob's great-grandparents, Lincoln and Gladys Secrest, raised him for the next seven years until Gladys passed away, with Lincoln passing away soon after. They had owned a rental property on South 4th Street in Terre Haute, where Bob continued to live with his mother, Frieda and his stepfather, Ralph Goodrich. He changed his name from Strader to Goodrich in high school.
At Wiley High School in Terre Haute, Indiana, Bob was the city doubles champion in tennis his junior year. He also played on the basketball team and was a member of the National Honor Society. While in high school, he worked at a liquor warehouse for Bud Werneke's dad.
After graduating from Wiley High School, he attended Indiana State University. While in college he installed windows in trailers. He graduated from Indiana State University in 1950 with a degree in business. Bob married Marilyn Annalee Hastings on November 29, 1949 and brought their first son, Gregory, home from the hospital the day of his college graduation.
He worked for Household Finance Corporation for 19 years. They transferred Bob to Evansville, Richmond, Indianapolis, Anderson, Detroit, and then back to Indianapolis during those years.
Bob then worked for Indiana National Bank for 25 years until retirement. He worked as a branch manager, loan administrator, and vice president.
He was a member of the Jaycees in Richmond, and belonged to Greenwood Sertoma Club as well as the Castleton Optimist Club in Indianapolis. He was a member of the Riviera Club and served as co-president of the Riviera boosters. He enjoyed playing tennis at the Riviera and also joined the Irvington dance club. Bob loved running and ran several mini marathons.
His favorite sport was basketball, and he was a great fan of the Butler basketball team. Bob had season tickets and attended Butler basketball games as many years as he was able.
He and his wife enjoyed traveling. They enjoyed 14 cruises to places such as Mexico, Europe, Alaska, Canada, the East Coast, and Nova Scotia. They also enjoyed many trips to Florida and California.
Bob raised four children, three boys and one girl. Bob is survived by two of his children, Greg Goodrich and Gloria Barnes; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

No visitation will be held. Donations may be made in his name to the National Parkinson's Foundation.
