Barbara "Bobbi" Rosenbaum
August 19, 1928 - January 18, 2019
Bobbi was born August 19, 1928 in Bicknell, Indiana to Roy and Sadie Pearl Keasling. She graduated from North Knox High School and attended Butler University. Later, she received degrees from Winona School of Photography. She married the love of her life, Steve Rosenbaum, and had one daughter Darlene Slaby (Ray). Together Bobbi and Steve ran a successful business, Steve Rosenbaum Photography in Indianapolis for nearly 30 years. She and Steve were long time members of the Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation.
Bobbi had many talents and a deep love of the arts. She was an award winning cook, painter, photo colorist and active in theater productions in Florida. She had several exhibits of her works displayed at art fairs throughout southwest Florida and her paintings grace the homes of many proud collectors. She had an affinity for creativity in many forms with a love for music, dance and especially jazz. She was a voracious reader and kept a detailed catalog of the hundreds of novels she consumed. After Steve's untimely passing in 1985 she closed the business and moved to Florida in 1988 to be nearer her sister, Rita Corn (Richard) who preceded her in death. While in Florida she attended Clowning School and took on the happy persona of "Bobbin" to perform at community gatherings, parades and children's parties. Through the years she was an intense fan of Butler basketball and the Indianapolis Colts. She enjoyed the sunshine and active life in Florida until April of 2018 when she returned to Indianapolis to be nearer her daughter.
She always had a deep love and passion for all animals, especially dogs. Her loving rescue poodle, Whoozie, survives her. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Bobbi's name may be made to the Humane Society of Indianapolis or Canine Companions for Independence.
