Barbara Storch, 90, of Indianapolis, passed away October 26, 2011. She was born October 23, 1921 in Cairo, Egypt, the daughter of Abdallah and Eugenie Ackaoui who preceded her in death, and sister of Antonie, Lodi, Richard, and Margaret.
After meeting and marrying Chester Storch, the love of her life, in her native Egypt, the couple went to live in the Bronx, New York. Later they moved to Spain where Chester served as a civil engineer and lived a marvelous 29 years. When Chester retired they returned to the U.S. to live in Sebring, Florida, and eventually to Indianapolis, Indiana to be near their daughter Patricia, and her family.
The one word that best describes Barbara's life is radiant: she was radiant in her inner and outer beauty, in her loyalty to her friends and family, and especially in her daily conversations with our Lord. She lived her life through the prism of her Faith and prayer.
Barbara is survived by Chester Storch, her husband of 68 years; children, Patricia Bishara (Rafik), Richard Storch (Priscilla), Chris Coonan, and Jeanie Ketchum (Stan), 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday October 29, 2011 at St. Augustine's Home at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Augustine's Home, 2345 West 86th Street, Indianapolis, 46260.
