Barry A. Schuchman,
was born on July 30, 1947 and passed away on July 30, 2017. Barry was a resident of Ft. Myers, Florida at the time of his passing. He was born in Indianapolis and was a valued member of Beth-El Zedeck Congregation. Barry graduated from North Central High School in 1965 before attending Indiana University in Bloomington.
He retired proudly from the Army Reserves before joining the family business, Schuchman Metals Incorporated (SMI). Barry transitioned to owning SMI and later Kasle Recycling and Sarco Industries. Over the years, all three became local advocates for recycling in Indianapolis and were nationally recognized for their efforts.
Barry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sandra E. Short Schuchman; and his grandson, Jaylen Alexander. He is survived by his three children, Adam (Dawn) Schuchman, Carrie (Jason) Schreiber, and J'orie Schuchman; his brothers, Myron (Robin) and Larry (Anne) Schuchman, and five grandchildren.
The family will be conducting a private graveside ceremony and in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Ovar'coming Together, 2625 N. Meridian Street, Ste 108, Indianapolis, IN 46208, to help the fight against ovarian cancer.
