Throughout her life, Beth served her family as a devoted homemaker, providing unwavering support and care until her children were grown. Later, demonstrating her commitment to personal growth and education, she returned to school and became the first woman in her family to earn a Bachelor’s degree, achieving this remarkable milestone in her 50s. This accomplishment not only marked a significant achievement in her life but also set a powerful example for her loved ones about the importance of lifelong learning.
Beth’s professional journey led her to work in various office settings, where she utilized her degree and skills to make valuable contributions. Her work ethic and dedication were always evident to those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Beth was cherished by her family, including her sons, William Arthur (Annette) Tanner of Brookport, IL, and Philip Marshall (Michelle) Dempsey of Carmel, IN. She was also a beloved grandmother to three grandchildren and a proud great-grandmother to three great-grandchildren, all of whom will carry forward her spirit of resilience and kindness.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Minor Eyer and Lavinia Sinclair Eyer. Beth’s warmth, determination, and nurturing nature will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Her life serves as a reminder of the power of love and the importance of education, leaving a lasting imprint on all who knew her.
