Betty Eilene (Burnette) Hamblin

March 29, 1952 — March 15, 2021

Betty Eilene (Burnette) Hamblin, 68, made her final journey and danced her way into Heaven on March 15, 2021, surrounded by her four daughters and the love of her life, Ralph Hamblin. We know she is dancing free of pain as she is greeted by family and friends in her new Heavenly home.  Betty Eilene was born to Hubert and Wanda (Rose) Burnette on March 29, 1952, in Kokomo, Indiana.

Betty Eilene loved life and she loved to have fun.  Singing was her true passion, especially gospel music.  She performed as a member of the gospel group One Way Flight and recorded a couple of CD’s with the group.  She also had a passion for dance, especially country line dancing and would stay on the dance floor for hours.  She was an unbelievable cook who would throw things together and always make a delicious meal.  Ask her for a recipe and she would just laugh because she rarely used them.  She would bake during the holidays for hours to make gifts for those she loved.  Her travels across the country in a semi with Ralph were special days that were filled with so much happiness.  She was a survivor, and a passionate warrior and advocate for domestic violence.  She truly loved life with the excitement that brings a smile to anyone who was fortunate enough to be loved by this wonderful lady.

Her four daughters were her special pride and joy.  She loved each of them so much.  Her favorite days were those spent with them and her grandchildren.  She also loved time spent with her sisters and brother as the five of them had such a special bond with one another.   Betty never met a stranger, and formed lifelong friendships with so many people that she held in her heart.

Although she is now at peace surrounded by her Heavenly family, her family and friends here on earth will feel her absence each and every day.  She was greatly loved and her family will honor her legacy by living their lives to the fullest, exactly as she would want.

Surviving are her four daughters, Sabrina Kinder, Rene Benge (Anthony), Jennifer Stanley (Scott), and Trisha Shepard (Jason); grandchildren, Stacia Benge Boyd, Christian Benge, Chelsey Wallace, Taylor Walker, Kyra Stanley, Brenden Mossholder, Caylee Shepard, Courtney Lane, Cierra Shepard, and Shia Roberts; many step grandchildren and great grandchildren; her special “adopted” son, Ralph Lee Clark; sisters, Jeanette Burnette (Wanita), Donna Burnette (Debbie), and Gail Bowers (Ted); and brother, Doyle Burnette (Angie).  She was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Wanda (Rose) Burnette; and her daughter, Dawn Jeanette Mossholder.

Betty Eilene will be cremated per her wishes.  Her daughters will host a memorial service and celebration of life at a later date to honor their beautiful mother.

Although we find it difficult as we travel this heartbreaking journey, we are grateful  that our Mother, our Grandmother, our Sister, and our Friend is no longer suffering and no longer in pain.

The Family would like to thank Kindred Hospice for the care and comfort they have provided not only to Betty Eilene, but to her family as well.
