Betty Carroll Levine

Dr. Betty Levine

92 years of age, long time professor at IUPUI passed away on April 14, 2017.

Dr. Levine was born on September 30, 1924 in Alliance, Nebraska to Bernard and Irene Carroll.

She received her BA from UCLA and her Phd in Sociology from Purdue. She worked as a professor of Sociology for over 20 years at IUPUI. An avid reader, at one time she had over 3500 editions in her collection.

Dr. Levine is survived by her husband, Aaron Levine; her sons, Steven Levine of Bloomington, IN and David (Myra) of Westfield, IN; grandchildren, Samantha, Michael, Jonah and Shoshana Levine; sister, Catherine Carroll and brothers, Robert and Billy Carroll.

She will be deeply missed.
