CAROL MARIE MEAD
54, of Zionsville, passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2012 after a brief illness. Born June 23, 1957 in Franklin, NJ to Robert Pellett and Jean (Houyoux) Pellett, she graduated Franklin High School in 1975 and earned her bachelor's degree in pharmacy from Drake University in 1980. Following her marriage in October 1980, she moved to Kansas City, MO where she practiced as a registered pharmacist and her first two sons were born. In 1987 she moved to Evansville, IN where her family became members of Aldersgate United Methodist Church and Carol became a Sunday School teacher, Junior Church leader, and dedicated volunteer. Her third son was born in Evansville, and the family moved to Zionsville in 2003.
Carol life was remarkable in her great groundedness in her family, children, husband, and church. In 1987 she set aside her professional training to dedicate herself to providing a loving home and raising her children with both gentleness and resolve. She witnessed her love by her selfless engagement in her sons' education, sports, activities, interests and growth. Carol had a passion for anticipating the needs and joys of others, and found many ways to serve through the great gift of always remembering, and recognizing through, cards, calls, presence and thoughtful appreciations. She enjoyed being a quiet supporter and organizer, which has permitted her husband to serve in his professional ministry.
She loved gardening and always had beautiful flowers blooming in her gardens and yard. She enjoyed serving as a volunteer at Zionsville Middle School, and for Troop 358 in Zionsville.
Carol is survived by her husband of 31 years, Ron; son David Mead, daughter-in-law Julie Mead, grandson, Brennan Mead; sons Kevin Mead and Jordan Mead; mother Jean Pellett; sister Mary and brother-in-law Jim Sanville; niece Miranda Sanville, father-in-law Lewis Mead, and sister-in-law Kathy Mead.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 3, 2012 at Aaron-Ruben-Nelson Mortuary at 11411 N. Michigan Rd., Zionsville, IN.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 4, 2012 at North United Methodist Church, 3808 N. Meridian St., Indianapolis, IN, with reception to follow the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to North United Methodist Church in Indianapolis, or Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Evansville.
