Carolyn Brucella (Helton) Byers

71, of Kokomo passed away North Woods Village on Friday January 12, 2018 at 6:00 a.m.

She was born on October 11, 1946 in Cincinnati, OH to the late Bruce Ollan Helton Sr. and Beulah (Ingram) Helton.

Throughout her life Carolyn was a Cosmetologist as well as a Cosmetologist Instructor. She was a member and attended First Assembly Church of God in Kokomo. Carolyn loved to sing and shared her beautiful voice by singing in the church choir. She also loved to cook and entertain. She had a passion and love for interior decorating, crafting, sewing, quilting, crocheting, and especially anything antique. She liked to use her skills by making a lot of clothing for her girls as they grew up. Her obsession though was shoes and purses. She would always say that she could never have too many shoes.

Carolyn is survived by three daughters Crystal Martinez; Tammy (Troy) Carpenter; and Felice Byers; and two brothers Clete Helton; Bruce Helton Jr.; and one sister Sharon (David) Cooper. She has nine grandchildren, Jasmine Nelson; Tomi Nelson; Gauge Nelson; Abbigial (Brett) Whitacre; Emily Carpenter; Adamiya Wilhelm; Demyrah Byers; Dylanee Denny; Adessa Denny; and eleven great grandchildren with one on the way.

One of Carolyn's major joys in life was to spend time and share her love with her grandchildren. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all of her loving family.

A private Celebration of Life will be held by her family.
