Carolyn Ann Shaffer, 77, of Indianapolis, Indiana, a beloved Mother, Sister, Mimi, and cherished friend, passed away on January 24, 2025. Born on January 3, 1948, in Columbus, Indiana, Carolyn was the daughter of William F. and Mildred S. Carothers, who proceeded her in death. Throughout her life, she embraced both challenges and joys with an unwavering spirit and a warm smile that would light up any room.
Carolyn dedicated many years of her service as a receptionist operator for a healthcare company where her kindness and efficiency made a significant impact on both colleagues and the members she served. Her commitment to her work was a testament to her character, reflecting the values of compassion and care that defined her life. She committed 50+ years to Sigma Phi Gamma International Sorority.
She is survived by her sons, Mark Shaffer, Keith (Michelle) Shaffer; her sister Linda McCoy-Murray, brothers Bruce (Kristy) Carothers, Bob (Penny) Carothers, Bill (Linda) Carothers, Her adoring grandchildren; and great grandchildren, as well as extended family and friends. Each of them carries forward her legacy of love and strength, and they will forever cherish the countless memories made together.
Carolyn's life touched many hearts, and her warmth and generosity left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to inspire her family and friends.
A visitation to honor Carolyn will be held on February 1, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Aaron-Ruben-Nelson Mortuary, located at 11411 N Michigan Rd, Zionsville, IN 46077. Following the visitation, a funeral service will commence at 12:00 PM, and she will subsequently be laid to rest at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens - Washington Park Cemetery in Indianapolis, IN.
As we gather to celebrate her life, let us remember the joy she spread and the love she instilled in those around her. Carolyn Ann Shaffer leaves behind a legacy of warmth and dedication that will resonate for generations to come.
