Catherine Bromm

January 24, 1937 — February 9, 2012

Catherine R. (Kitty) Bromm, 75, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on February 9, 2012. Her faith, grace, kindness, and strength were an inspiration to many.

She graduated from Indiana University in 1959. She was honored to be elected President of Mortar Board, was a member and officer of Kappa Kappa Gamma (receiving her 50 year pin in 2006), and treasured her life-long Kappa friends.

Her life was centered around family, church, and community. She was an active member of Old North UMC and St. John's East UCC in Evansville, and Meridian Street UMC in Indianapolis. During her many years in Evansville, she served as President of the Junior League, on the Red Cross Board of Directors, and supported many local programs including Musicians Club, Civic Theatre and Friends of Mesker Park Zoo.

She is survived by her children Barbara H. Thurman (Michael), and Richard C. Bromm (Victoria) of Indianapolis; grandchildren Hannah Bromm, Benjamin and Natalie Crooks, Samuel and Clinton (Jennifer) Thurman; great-grandchildren Clay and Will Thurman; and sister Barbara Hilliker (John). She was preceded in death by many dear family members including her parents William L. and Isabel Craig.

A memorial service followed by a reception will be held on Saturday, February 18th at 2pm at Meridian Street United Methodist Church, 5500 N. Meridian Street, Indianapolis, IN, 46208, 317-253-3237.
