December 10, 1926 — February 14, 2019

Catherine (Watson) Kilgore

Passed away, February 14, 2019. ‘Katie' was born in Wabash, IN in 1926 where she attended Wabash High and Wabash Christian Church. She married Richard (Dick) Kilgore in 1949 and moved to Washington DC where they had their first child, Paul. Dick and Katie soon returned to Indiana as Dick entered the ministry with the Disciples of Christ. Sons, Doug and Steve, soon followed as Katie had a houseful to manage. In addition to being active in the many churches they served, Katie worked as a school secretary in Gary and Fishers, IN. She later worked at Creighton University in Omaha, NE. After serving churches in Indiana and Iowa, Katie and Dick did a series of interim positions living in six states from North Carolina to California. Katie was ever warm, kind and positive. She was an excellent baker and cook and enjoyed reading, playing the piano, and the company of others. Above all, Katie was a kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was well loved by the many lives she touched.
