Charlene Rosemary (Hazelip) Williams,
86, passed away December 12, 2021. She was born in Indianapolis to Chester and Florence Louise Hazelip on October 6, 1935. Charlene earned an Associate’s degree and began working as a stock broker at Raffensperger and Hughes Co. Inc. She married Edward Adair Williams on July 18, 1954. Charlene was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend who was loved by all. She was active in Center Grove Presbyterian Church and served as a Girl Scout Leader. Charlene was a previous member of University Heights Christian Church in Indianapolis.
Those closest to Charlene will always remember how hardworking and creative she was. She loved photography and genealogy and was avid in documenting her family in photos and family trees. Charlene found satisfaction working in her yard and loved her flowers. She also enjoyed swimming and listening to country music. Charlene was a selfless person who never met a stranger. She always put others first and was happiest spending times with family – especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Charlene is survived by her husband, Edward; children, Joyce (David) Ter Horst and Bruce E. (Denise) Williams; grandchildren, Dawn Lantz, Jonathan Ter Horst, Andrea Ter Horst, Joshua Ter Horst, Ryan Williams and Jenna Alvarenga; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at New Hope Christian Church, 5780 South Main Street, Whitestown, IN 46074 at 11 AM on Wednesday, December 15th. Burial will follow in The Gardens at Olive Branch Cemetery, 1605 South State Road 135, Greenwood, Indiana 46143 at 2 PM.
