Charles Bruce Coad, 70, of Indianapolis passed away peacefully on January 11, 2014 following a brief, courageous battle with lung cancer. At the time of his passing he was surrounded and comforted by family members at St. Vincent Hospice Indianapolis.
He was born on September 16, 1943 in Caldwell, New Jersey to Claude and Irma Coad. He graduated from Muskingum College in New Concord, Ohio before embarking on a career in the steel industry. He eventually transitioned to the restaurant business, ending his career as a bartender at the Snooty Fox Restaurant in Indianapolis.
It was said during his life Bruce never met a stranger. He was a voracious reader and cruciverbalophile, avid gardener, and doting father to his two dogs.
He is survived by his loving partner Joann Bacon, of Indianapolis, and his two children: Brian Coad, of Washington, DC; Andrea Peter, of Chatam, NJ. He is also survived by four grandchildren.
