Charles Otto Rivers

96, of Whitestown, passed away on October 23, 2023. He was born in Russellville, Indiana to the late Otto Chester and Audry Mary Rivers on February 9, 1927. After high school, Charles honorably served in the United States Navy during both WWII and the Korean War. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor’s degree in architecture. He went on to own his own architecture firm.

Charles is survived by his sons, Greg, Kelly, Bart, and Steven Rivers; 11 grandchildren, Nathan, Andrew, Lucas, Aaron, Stewart, Thomas, Abbey, Alex, Noah, Jack, and Tyler Rivers; and daughters-in-law, Diann, Sarah, Mary and Carrie Rivers.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Nancy Stewart Rivers; parents; and brothers, Curtis, Morris, and Ronald Rivers.

Charlie will be best remembered for his kind spirit, gentle nature, sense of humor, and love for his family. He and his wife Nancy spent most of their later years as loving grandparents, better known as Papaw and Grammy. Life centered around their grandkids, who abundantly received sincere hugs, genuine laughter, warm meals, puzzles and forts at playtime, and unlimited creativity.
