Charles "Charlie" M. Stilabower
84 years of age, of Indianapolis, passed away April 28, 2012. He was born on April 6, 1928 in Coles County, IL. He was a graduate of Windsor High School, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of American Legion Post 500 and St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, both of Speedway.
Charlie retired from Conrail in 1983 after 37 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Ruth; his wife, Sara J. Cole Stilabower and daughter, Selena Combs.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, Martha "Marty" Stilabower; sons, J. Michael Stilabower, Tom ( Bek Garrett) Stilabower; siblings, Chet (Margaret) Stilabower, Gary (Betsy) Stilabower, Ron (Linda Garner) Stilabower, and Judy Merriman; 4 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Visitation will be held on May 5, 2012 at Lovins-Lockart Funeral Home in Windsor, Illinois from 11 AM - 1 PM with a service to follow. For directions and other information, please visit, www.lockartgreenfuneralhome.com. A Celebration of Life will be held in Indianapolis at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association.
