83 of Indianapolis, Indiana was born March 8, 1930 and passed away June 15, 2013.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther; his parents, Claude K. and Hazel Holmes Mitchell; and his siblings, Mardoni and Markiel Mitchell, and Maybelle Shrum. He is survived by his sons, Chad and Kevin Mitchell; stepson, Kevin Bellamey; stepdaughter, Angie Armstrong; brothers, Happy and Clark Mitchell; and grandchildren, Shannon, Sarah, Chris, Aaron, Jenny, Scott, and Kurtis.
Claude retired after working 43 years for the Sani-Serv Corporation. He loved construction and engineering projects, gardening, and travel. He was a thoughtful and caring man who was always ready to help family, friends, and neighbors in need. Before his illness, Claude was actively involved in providing food baskets for needy families.
He was a faithful member of Lynhurst Baptist Church for over 60 years where a memorial service will be held Saturday, June 29 at 1:00 PM. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Lynhurst Baptist Church Food Pantry, 1250 S. Lynhurst Drive, Indianapolis 46241.
