Clifford Trimble
October 5, 1928 - August 11, 2015
ANDERSON- Clifford Trimble, 86, Anderson, passed away August 11, 2015 at Saint Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital after a brief illness. Born October 5, 1928 in Naomi, Kentucky to Willie and Lillie (Garner) Trimble, he resided in Indiana for most of his life. He lived in Indianapolis for many years and recently moved to Anderson to live near family.
He served in the army, received his Bachelors in Elementary Education and Social Studies from Eastern Kentucky State College, then Masters and Doctorate in Educational Administration from Purdue University. He was a classroom teacher and administrator for elementary and secondary schools, and Professor of Education at Purdue University Calumet in Hammond for twenty years.
Clifford treasured sharing meals with friends and family, growing beautiful houseplants, reading his many magazine subscriptions, listening to light classical and gospel music, and searching Thrifty Threads and Goodwill for items to give to others less fortunate. He had an eye for quality, seeming to see a bargain from a long way off. In his younger days, Roller canaries and Arabian horses were some of his passions. He traveled around the country and had friends all over the U.S. He took great pride in his newly remodeled small house in Anderson, enjoying his tomato plants and his flowering pots.
Survivors include his niece and caregiver, Deborah Koons; close friends, Roger, Garrick, Daniel, Dennis, Don, Earl Jr., and Judy; and several nieces, nephews and other good friends.
He was preceded in death by sisters Delphia McMinn and Ruby True; brothers, Verl Trimble, Ervil Trimble, and Leonard Trimble; and his parents.
A memorial service will take place at 11 am Saturday, August 29th, at the East Maplewood Cemetery Chapel, Anderson, Indiana. Internment of cremains will follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Purdue Foundation, 403 West Wood Street, West Lafayette, IN 47907.
Arrangements by Aaron-Ruben-Nelson Mortuary and Cremation Services, Zionsville.
