Corinne Mae Reifeis,

91, of Indianapolis passed away March 19, 2019. She was born August 12, 1927 to Claude and Anna Fletcher. Corinne graduated from Shortridge High School in 1945 and earned her Bachelor of Science degree at Purdue University in 1950. She did clerical work for Harcourt Clinic and later worked in the Purdue Chemistry Library from 1955-1956. Corinne married Robert Reifeis in 1955 and stayed at home to raise their children. Corinne enjoyed Eastern Star as a star point. Bridge Club, Euchre Club, Garden Club, and Tri Kappa Service Sorority were some of the activities she enjoyed every month while her children were growing up. She had a green thumb with plants inside and outside but she especially liked her African Violets which flourished under her care. One of Corinne's baking accomplishments was baking sourdough bread which the family enjoyed on a biweekly schedule.

Corinne spent most of her summer weekends and family vacations at Lake Lavine where her family often camped lakeside until 1934 when they built the first cottage on Herl's Beach. She loved swimming, fishing, tubing, and watching the sunset over the lake each night. In later years she enjoyed her children and grandchildren enjoying the same activities.

In 1985, Bob and Corinne moved to Blue Springs, MO. then returned to the Indianapolis area in 1990. Corinne was a 31 year Breast Cancer survivor.

Corinne will be remembered for her loving dedication to her family. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Robert "Bob" Reifeis; three children, Ann (Herb) Yates, Rob (Nikki) Reifeis, and Tom (Sandy) Reifeis; 12 grandchildren, Jeff Yates, Rebecca (Kris) Gadshian, Kristen (Joshua) Fast, Tyler Shafer, Megan Reifeis, Sarah Reifeis, Emily Reifeis, Taylor Shafer, Cassie Reifeis, Logan Reifeis, Carter Reifeis, and Brynne Reifeis; and four great-grandchildren, Ally Yates, Makenzie Gadshian, Kairi Shafer and Everton Shafer. She is survived by nieces and nephews; Craig, Paul, Randy, Scott, Elaine, Rick, Marc and Stacy. She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Matthew Reifeis and David Reifeis; great-granddaughter, Rhea Gadshian; and brother, George Fletcher.
