Daniel "Dan" R McCarty

Daniel (Dan) R McCarty, 63, of Indianapolis, Indiana, formally of Perrysburg Ohio, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on January 20, 2022.  Dan was born on January 5, 1959, in Fremont, Ohio. He was raised in Perrysburg, Ohio by Elmer and Phebe McCarty. He attended Rossford High School where he ran cross-country and track. He graduated in 1978 and then joined the United States Army where he served honorably from 1978 to 1982. After leaving the Army, Dan attended United Wesleyan College in Allentown, PA.  In the summer of 1984, Dan met and fell in love with Carol Shumway whom he married on April 29, 1986. Dan and Carol later welcomed their daughters Stephanie Pearl McCarty in January 1991 and Danielle Marie McCarty in June 1992. Dan was later reunited with his son Joshua Lee Rardin, in the summer of 2016.

Dan is survived by his wife of 35 years, Carol, and 3 children; Joshua of South Carolina, Stephanie (John) Yount, and Danielle McCarty of Indiana. Dan leaves 6 Grandchildren, Stephen, Zayne, Ava, Lilly, Cross, and Dede; his Mother and Stepfather Phebe and Marco Bartolomeo of Florida, siblings Shirley McGovern of Fayette, Ohio, Lois (Todd) Pittenger of Florida, Scott (Marsha) McCarty of Ohio. Dan was preceded in death by his father Elmer H McCarty.

Visitation will be held at A.R.N. Funeral and Cremation Services, 11411 N. Michigan Rd. Zionsville on Saturday February 26th from Noon until 2:00 p.m.  A Celebration of Dan’s Life will be held immediately following the visitation at 2:00 p.m. at A.R.N. Funeral and Cremation Services.
