David H. Ritchie,
76, died March 4th, 2016, at 9:54 p.m. at his home in Carmel, Indiana. Mr. Ritchie was born August 23, 1939, in Centralia, IL, the son of David A. Ritchie and Elaine (Hankins) Ritchie Nordstrom. He married Anita Harlow in Mt. Vernon, IL on February 1, 1969. Mr. Ritchie attended Centralia Township High School, Kaskaskia Junior College and the University of Illinois.
He is survived by his son, Alex and wife Amy of Albuquerque, NM; daughter Elizabeth Ann (Ritchie) Stewart and husband Allen of Carmel, IN; five grandchildren, Madison Elaine Stewart, Ayden Matthew Stewart, Gavin Blackmon Stewart, Allison Elaine Ritchie and Anna Carolyn Ritchie; two brothers, Joseph Ritchie and wife Kathy, and Michael Ritchie; and sister, Patricia (Ritchie) Wall and husband Skip. David's three brothers-in-law and their wives were such a loving part of his life, Dr. Roger Woodrome and Natalie, Charlie Baker and Melissa, and David Dude and Camilla.
Mr. Ritchie was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Indianapolis, IN, where he sang in the Chancel Choir. He was an active member of the Centralia Lions Club and the 1969 recipient of the Centralia Jaycees' Distinguished Service Award. He was the owner and operator of a long-time family business, Ritchie's, in Centralia, IL, and then Ritchie's of Albuquerque, in Albuquerque, NM. He moved to Indiana in 1999 where he retired.
A Celebration of Life Service for David will be held at St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Indianapolis, IN, on Saturday, March 12th, at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any memorial contributions be made to St. Luke's United Methodist Church Chancel Choir.
