Deana Dean (Brennan) Davis Hord died Tuesday, October 29, 2013 in Lebanon, Indiana at the Hickory Creek Health Care facility. Dee was born on March 8, 1943 to Howard Glenn and Barbara Elizabeth (Boyd) Brennan in Indianapolis, IN. She was preceded in death by her father Howard in January 2001, her mother Barbara in February 2008 and her husband George Hord in April of 2008. Dee is survived by her sister Shirley Christy of Plainfield, IN and her children and grandchildren.
Dee attended Pike High School and married Albert Roy Davis, Jr. (deceased) in 1959. They were married until 1971. Dee was a waitress and bartender for many years also having worked at FMC-Linkbelt and the Indianapolis Airport Authority.
Dee had four children with Roy; Greg Davis, Deanette Davis-Bannister (Gary), Ron Davis (Sheena) and Howard Davis (Linn). She has seven grand-children; Christina Parlier (Dave), Erin (Adam) Austin, Amanda Davis (Michael), Greg Davis Jr. (Lauren), Lindsey Bianchi (Dan), Conner Davis and Chloe Davis. Dee is also the proud great-grandmother of nine; Kyle, Nathan, Eden, Emma, Eastyn, Robert, Daniel, Elizabeth and Allyson.
Dee married George Hord in December 1987. Dee and George were both avid motorcyclists and were members of the Vigilantes' MC Club in Indianapolis. After George retired in 1993 they moved to Pomona Park, Florida where they were very active in the local Moose, Eagles and American Legion. Dee served with the Ladies of the Moose from 2000 to 2008. During her retirement years, Dee bartended at the Moose Lodge where everyone loved her so much they called her "Aunt Dee". She had an ear for listening and was always there whenever someone needed a shoulder.
Dee loved her family and friends with all her heart and soul. She devoted her life to taking care of George through his illness until his death in 2008. She frequently traveled to Indiana to care for family during times of illness. She always put other people before herself and it showed in every aspect of her life.
Dee's final request was to be cremated, with her and George's ashes to be scattered from a motorcycle in their beloved Florida home town of Pomona Park. A memorial will be held with a date yet to be determined.
Dee requested that in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to the American Diabetes Association.
