Denis Vincent Donovan

Denis Vincent Donovan,

85, of Westfield, passed away January 30, 2021.  He was born in Monticello, Iowa to the late Vincent and Alice Donovan on October 15, 1935.  Denis was a 1953 graduate of Monticello High School and then went on to proudly serve in the United States Army.  He spent his 35-year professional career as a meat inspector for the USDA.  Denis enjoyed sports and was a fan of the Cubs and Iowa Hawkeyes.  He was known to be a card shark and was a skilled Euchre player.  Denis cared deeply for animals.  His favorite pastime of all was spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Linda; children, David (Diane) Donovan, Deb (Doug) Suhr, Darcy (Buck) Knudtson, Tina (David) Moore, Judith Culver, and Jennifer (Leroy) Thompson; 13 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Donald Donovan, Marilyn (Lumir) Melsha, and Janet (Kenneth) Kaliban.  Denis was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Dean Donovan.

The family will hold services privately.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Hamilton County .
