Diane Marie Lacy died peacefully on July 6, 2015 in Indianapolis, Indiana at the age of 65 after a valiant fight against cancer.
Diane was born on March 24, 1950 in Coldwater, Michigan to Catherine and Richard Cline. As the oldest of five children, she grew up in Defiance, Ohio attending St. John Catholic Church and school. Diane graduated from Ayresville High School in 1968 and attended Ohio Northern University. She married Terry Lacy and gave birth to her daughter in 1971. On October 21, 2000, she married Greg Mahler and they were happily married for almost 15 years. After her long career in sales for GAC Chemical Corporation, she enjoyed spending time spoiling her grandchildren and working in her flower gardens. Diane and Greg were known as airplane grandma and grandpa because of their passion for airplanes and volunteering at air shows. She volunteered at the former Indianapolis Air Show, almost all of the local air shows and aviation events, and spent a full week each year volunteering at the huge EAA AirVenture Oshkosh (The Oshkosh, Wisconsin annual air show).
Diane is survived by her husband, Greg Mahler; her mother, Catherine Cline, of Defiance, OH; her brother and sister-in-law, Dennis and Marcia Cline, of Defiance, OH; her brother and sister-in-law, David and Roberta Cline, of Richmond, IN; her sister, Elaine Cline, of Colorado Springs, CO; her brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Valery Cline, of Defiance, OH; daughter and son-in-law, Julie and Keith Gantner, of Indianapolis, IN; step-daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Steve Curtis, of Woodland Hills, CA, step-daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Dan Ryan, of Indianapolis, IN; nine grandchildren and nephews and nieces.
A celebration of her life is scheduled for Sunday, July 12, 2015 from 2 " 4 pm at Coxhall Gardens in Carmel, Indiana. Rev. Matt McGraw will officiate the ceremony.
