Diane Elise Wiley

April 13, 1930 — March 16, 2013

Diane Elise Whittaker Wiley,
82, Carmel, passed away March 16, 2013. She was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan to Clyde Frank and Conciola Bertha Whittaker on April 13, 1930. Diane was raised in Anderson, Indiana and was a longtime resident of Indianapolis. She was a graduate of Anderson High School in 1948 and received a Bachelor's in Business from Indiana University in 1952. Diane dedicated her entire working career to developing and effectively managing Anderson Memorial Park. Up until her death, she served as the president & CEO of Park Development Corporation, parent corporation of AMP.

Diane was a member of the Delta Delta Delta Sorority and IU Alumni Association, and a previous member of the Tri Kappa Sorority, Junior League, Anderson Country Club, and Hillcrest Country Club. She had also been recognized by many charitable organizations for her consistent and generous support.

Her passions were many but, love of and devotion to her family was first and foremost, followed by her love of and faith in Christ, her dedication and commitment to the family business, Anderson Memorial Park. She traveled around the world, including but not limited to, the British Isles; throughout Western Europe; parts of the Pacific Rim including Thailand, Hong Kong, Singapore; New Zealand, Australia, Tahiti, Bali, Mexico, Canada, and throughout most of the United States with a special fondness for Sanibel Island, Florida and Hawaii. Diane shared her love of traveling by presenting each one of her children with a wonderful, life-altering, two-month trip to Europe. Another of her passions was playing bridge and spending time with close friends.

She was preceded in death by her friend, previous husband, and father to their three children, Jim Wiley; and her beloved miniature French poodle, Evie.

Diane is survived by daughter, Carolyn Diane Louden, son-in-law, Rick, and granddaughters, Jordan and Elise of Zionsville, son, James "Jay" Gordon Wiley III; daughter-in-law, Kimberly, and grandchildren, Nicole, Matthew and Megan of Carmel, and daughter, Christine "Kiki" Elise Raymond, grandson, Jason, and grand-dog, Emme of Carmel, and her brother, James Clyde Whittaker and his family of Florida.

The family wishes to give special thanks to Lori Butler who brought so much joy and laughter to Diane during her final years; and Michael D. Austin, her trusted advisor, attorney, and friend.

She was a daughter, sister, friend, wife, mother, and "DeeDee". Her children loved her dearly a million bushels full! Family and close friends are going to dearly miss Diane for her abundant love, quick wit, undying loyalty, gracious nature, and her tremendous generosity.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, March 27th in the Chapel at Aaron-Ruben-Nelson Mortuary, 11411 North Michigan Road, at 6:30 PM. Visitation will begin at 4pm until the time of the service. A private burial service will be held at a later date at Anderson Memorial Park.
