Donna Lee Brant

Beloved Teacher, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother

Donna Lee Brant passed away on November 20, 2021, at Brownsburg Meadows Nursing Home in Brownsburg, Indiana at the age of 76.

Donna was born to Margaret and Donald Brant on March 12, 1945. Born and raised in Indianapolis, Donna graduated from Emmerich Manual High School in 1963. Donna later graduated from Ball State University and received a master’s degree in Special Education. Donna then taught special education for 36 years with Indianapolis Public Schools. Donna had such love for the children she taught, often stating that she needed them just as much, if not more, than they needed her. Her perseverance, empathy and patience were her strengths both in and outside the classroom.

Donna was an extremely intelligent woman who had many interests. She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing Scrabble and Euchre. Donna was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and most proud of her family. Donna is survived by her two devoted sons, Anthony (Kirsten) Mills and Bret (Joyce) Mills; eight grandchildren, Brandy (Timothy), Max (Joselyn), Luke, Peytan, Oakley, Drew, Adalyn and Nolan; five great grandchildren, Alexandra, Michael, Landen, Mason, and Gwyndolyn; cousins and friends.

A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2021, from 1- 4 pm. at the residence of Bret Mills. For further details, please contact 317-966-1546.
