Dorothy "Dottie" Oszuscik Soule
90, passed away on December 18, 2014. She was born on February 4, 1924 to John E. and Veronica (Polus) Oszuscik in Michigan City, Indiana. She was a graduate of Isaac C. Elston Sr. High School (1942) and the Michigan City Business College.
Dottie is survived by her daughter, Diana Soule McDowell; granddaughters, Morgan Ann, Zionsville and Erin Emily McDowell, Chicago; and former son-in-law, Dr. Bruce McDowell, Zionsville. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Josef P., John W., Alexander E., and Floryan "Susie" Oszuscik; and one sister, Terese Pearson.
While living in Michigan City, she was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, as well as a lifetime member of the Lake Michigan Chapter of the Order of the Easter Star. Dottie was a secretary her entire professional life, holding several positions including secretary to the Mayor of Michigan City.
Upon retiring in 1989, she relocated to Indianapolis. She loved to travel and especially enjoyed her five years as a volunteer tutor in the OASIS program at Allisonville Elementary School. She was a member of St. Alban's Episcopal Church and the Senior Saints of Colonial Baptist Church.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Dottie's family requests that donations may be made in her memory to either St. Alban's or to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
