Edna Doris (Black) Newby

Edna Doris Newby,

78, passed away June 17, 2021 - just a week after losing her husband of over 60 years, Richard E. Newby.

Doris was born in Iron City, Tennessee to the late Grady and Edna (Sims) Black on October 22, 1942.  She graduated from Noblesville High School and married the love of her life on October 7, 1960.  Doris and Richard were devoted to one another and raised three children in their loving home.  She was a gifted homemaker who enjoyed reading and sewing.  They were members of Lakeview Wesleyan Church.  Above all else, Doris cherished her faith and her family.

She will always be remembered as having enough love to cover the universe.  Doris helped care for many of her grandchildren and enjoyed spoiling them.  She also liked listening to Elvis Presley and Jimmy Swaggart.

Survivors include her children, Kevin R. (Gail) Newby of Westfield, IN, Kathy L. Newby (Kevin) Crouch of Nashville, IN, and Karla A. Newby (David) Burkett of Indianapolis, IN; 12 grandchildren, Natosha, Nathan, Joshua, Ashley, Marylynn, Melissa, Brad, Seth, Benjamin, Breanna, Madison and Abigail; 10 great-grandchildren; and sister, Linda G. "Kay" Black (Warren) Moore of Riverview, FL.
