Edward Bick passed away very peacefully on March 5th, 2021. Ed was born in Toledo, OH to Harvey and Luella Bick. He attended Toledo University and finished his studies at the United States Merchant Marine Academy while serving in World War II as a Merchant Marine Engineer. Ed married Ebba Dannenfelser (deceased in 2016) in 1947 and had three sons, Peter, Stewart and Carter. They each acknowledge the character-building influences they both shared: Love, Humor, Intellect.
Ed was employed with Kaiser, Willys, Jeep, General Motors, Delorean and several other auto companies in various executive capacities of Marketing and Public Relations. At the age of seventy, his pride and joy was being a member of the Silver Foxes in Houston, TX, a consulting group of retired executives.
Ed and Ebba lived in Ann Arbor, MI, Menlo Park, CA and Houston, TX before moving to Carmel in 2008. In addition to his sons, he is survived by his nine grandchildren, Emily (Travis Elborough), Nathan (Ingrid), Hunter (Diedre), Tenley, Carsten, Catherine, Cameron, and Olivia Bick, and Kirstin Tillinger. He has two great-grandchildren, Clara and Phoebe Bick. He is also survived by his daughter-in-laws, Carol (Peter), Londa (Stewart), and Amy (Carter).
A service will be held at St. Luke Catholic Church, 7575 Holliday E. Dr., Indianapolis, on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at 11:30am. He will be interred at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Ann Arbor, MI with his love Ebba.
The Family wishes to thank the loving providers at Ascension St. Vincent Carmel Hospital, 86th Street Hospital and the Ascension Hospice Unit. Special thanks are also extended to St. Luke Catholic Church.
Pops, we couldn’t out-think you and we will never be able to out-work you. Thanks for the absolutely incredible support you have provided for ALL. We will all miss you dearly.
