Edward Waldman

EDWARD WALDMAN 83, of Indianapolis, died at home on December 30, 2012.

He was born in New York City on January 14, 1930 to the late Joseph and Sarah Waldman. He was preceded in death by his sister Sylvia Lewitt and niece Nancy Arnold.

Ed attended Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa until his Air Force National Guard Unit was activated during the Korean War. Upon the conclusion of his enlistment, he enrolled in New York University (NYC) graduating with a degree in Textile Engineering.

After several years working in the Midwest for Dan River and Forge Mills, he joined Zale Jewelers and worked his way up to a Store Managerial position. He then joined Goldman Brothers working his way up to a managerial position.

In 1968, he moved the family to Indianapolis to purchase Devington jewelers. He subsequently established Castleton & Waldman Jewelers. Upon the closing of his stores, he joined Lieber & Lerner Diamond Jewelry Manufacturers as a Midwest Sales Representative until his retirement in 1992.
Ed loved traveling to new places around the United States, Mexico and Canada. He especially enjoyed visiting and hiking through state and national parks. Upon his retirement, he and his wife traveled through most of Europe, the Mediterranean Countries, Asia and the Mid-East countries of Israel, Jordan and Egypt.

Edward is survived by his wife of over 51 years, Evelyn Claire "Lynne" Waldman and his children Scott. (Toby), Douglas (Debbie), Mitchell (Daniel) and Becky Waldman; as well as his six wonderful grandchildren Monya, Chase , Joshua , Samuel , Joseph, and Reyna .

Ed Waldman's family wants to thank the many people at Roudebush Veterans Hospital and Vista Home Hospice for their excellent and compassionate care.

Funeral service will be at Aaron Ruben Nelson Mortuary, 11411 N. Michigan Rd. Zionsville at 3PM on Wednesday, January 2, 2012.
