Edwin "Marvin" Gibson

November 4, 1932 — April 13, 2019

Edwin better known as Marvin Gibson.

86, of Westfield, passed away surrounded by his family on April 13, 2019. He was born in Montgomery County, Indiana after twin brother Melvin on November 4, 1932 to the late Earl and Vernia (Wilshire) Gibson. Marvin was a graduate of Arsenal Technical High School, class of 1952. Marvin married his high school sweetheart Charlene Kreiger on May 3, 1953 before he went on to proudly serve his tour of duty in the United States Army Third Armored Division.

Marvin retired from Allison Gas Turbine Division of General Motors Corporation with over 33 years of service. He was a master gardener who was active in the Purdue University Hamilton County Extension Master Gardener group and an avid fisherman in Venice, FL.

Marvin is survived by his wife of 65 years, Charlene; daughters, Savannah Rose Donovan and Cathleen Gibson Hendron; grandchildren, Elliott, Christopher, Brett, Cheryl, Caitlin; great grandchildren Kaidance, Emily, and Tegan. He is preceded in death by 3 brothers, John, Harrold & Edward Melvin Gibson.

A memorial service will be held at First Christian Church, 16377 Herriman Blvd, Noblesville, IN 46060 on Saturday, August 17th at 1 PM. Directly following the service, there will be a gathering in the fellowship hall.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Speedway Post 500.
