Eleanor Jeanne “Jeannie” Resnick Cohen

Beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother passed away peacefully on October 3, 2023 in Chesterton, Indiana.  Eleanor was born on January 17, 1934 to Nathan and Rae Pozner Resnick in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was a graduate of Shortridge High School and Indiana University. Jeannie was an accomplished artist, gardener, and baker, with a lifelong interest in learning new things. She was active with the JCC Seniors group, and with the Temple Israel Golden Oldies after she moved to Valparaiso to live with her daughter.

She is survived by her devoted and loving daughter, Alisa Deer (William) of Valparaiso, her grandson, Joseph Deer (Sarah), her sister in law Judy Resnick, and her nieces, nephews, and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Cohen; her brother, Fred Resnick and her parents.

Graveside funeral services will be held in Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation North Cemetery, 1300 E. 161st Street, Westfield, IN. on October 17, 2023 at 3:00 pm EDT.

Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Art League of Indianapolis.
