Elisabeth "Lisette" Ludovica (Stans) Miller, 82, died Thursday morning, September 3, 2015, at her home in Columbus, Indiana.
Lisette is survived by her children, Therese Elisabeth Miller and Peter Edward (Jennifer) Miller; and grandchildren Christopher Miller, Jacinthe Jarrell, Christine (Paul) Banister, Caitlin Miller, and Michael Farley. Lisette is also survived by her brother Victor (Wiska) Stans, sister-in-law Jeanne Stans, and family friend and caretaker Gama Zendejas. She was preceded in death by her adult son Alan Ian Miller, her brother John Stans, and her parents Theresia and Petrus Stans.
Lisette was born in Antwerp, Belgium, on July 7, 1933 and immigrated to the United States in 1960. She was a Real Estate Broker with Century 21 in Indianapolis, and worked with the Indiana Department of Transportation until her retirement in 1996. Lisette loved traveling, being her grandchildren's favorite "Bomma", tending to her flower gardens, opera, and the arts.
In keeping with Lisette's wishes, Aaron-Ruben-Nelson Mortuary was entrusted with cremation arrangements. A memorial Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2015, at 2pm at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Columbus, Indiana. Donations in Lisette's memory may be made to the National Alliance of Mental Illness (NAMI.org).
