Elizabeth Foster Douglas of Hampton Bays died on January 23, 2015 at Zionsville Meadows, Zionsville, Indiana. She was 87.
Born on March 15, 1927, in Winchendon, MA, she married John B. Douglas in 1950, and they lived in the Albany area and suburbs of Syracuse until 1969, after which they moved to New Hampshire. When they retired in 1986, they moved to Hampton Bays to build a home on the Foster family property.
Mrs. Douglas was a teacher and librarian. She was an avid reader of great books and enjoyed playing bridge and square dancing with her husband, who died in 2013. She was a devoted wife to her late husband and a proud mother to her two sons.
She is survived by two children, Jack and wife Cate of Massachusetts, and Bruce and wife Delora of Indiana; five grandchildren, Rebecca Johnson and Barton Douglas, John C., Katherine E. and Joanna L. Douglas; and two great-granddaughters, Louisa and Ruby Johnson.
Arrangements for a service in Hampton Bays will be made for a future date.
