She attended Tillman High School in Paducah, and Gulf Park College in Texas. She moved to Indianapolis in 1941 when she married Frank David Goldsmith.

The couple had three children and Liz was a dedicated homemaker. A member of the Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation, Liz was not strictly religious but tried to live her life by the Golden Rule, and treated people accordingly.

She was a member of the Civil Defense during WWll and did volunteer work for Well Baby Clinic in Indianapolis.

Elizabeth enjoyed live theater such as Broadway musicals and ballet, particularly Nureyev and Baryshnikov, and also the great singers of her era. She traveled to Europe, Mexico and Asia. Her favorite place abroad was Venice, Italy. Her favorite move was Summertime . She most likely had a big crush on actor Rossano Brazzi. Her favorite food was Eggplant Parmesan, but she loved kosher hot dogs as well.

Liz was predeceased her eldest daughter, Nancy Barker Goldsmith in 2000, and by her husband in 2002. She is survived by her son Michael S. (Linda M.) Goldsmith, her daughter Cynthia Goldsmith, nieces, nephews, and several great-nieces and nephews.

Her family wishes to thank St. Vincent Hospice and these wonderful women that helped care for her: Chavonda Amos, Agnes Gibson, Ashley Moore, Eula Moore, Norma Spinx, Kim Williams, and Pam Williams.
