Elizabeth Martha Kirk

Elizabeth "Liz" Kirk was called to her final resting place with our Lord on February 23, 2025 at the age of 88. 

Born February 22, 1937 to Lyle and Elizabeth Gannon in Richmond, VA. The family then moved to Alexandria, VA and Liz graduated from George Washington High School in 1955. Liz married Donald Kirk and raised two sons, Brian and Kevin. She worked for the city of Alexandria as an administrator for firefighting training. Liz loved her home and neighborhood.

Her loved ones proudly remember Liz for her strength, independence, and love of her family and country. Liz enjoyed movies and dinners out, great conversation, and shopping. She volunteered to greet veterans as part of the Honor Flight program. Liz welcomed each veteran with a kiss on the cheek and thanked them for their service to our country.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and youngest son, Kevin.

Liz is survived by her twin brother, Lyle "Sonny" Gannon; her oldest son, Brian (Margie) Kirk; daughter-in-law, Kim; and grandsons, Patrick, Jack, Matthew, Ryan, and Jack.

Liz's family and neighbors will greatly miss her warm, joyful greetings on her porch. Their hope is that Liz's energetic strength will inspire those who knew her to live their best, joy-filled lives.
