Beth passed peacefully on Saturday, May 23, 2015. She was born on May 27, 1923 in Buffalo New York to Helen Prager Anderson and James Main Anderson.

Beth was a graduate of Tudor Hall in Indianapolis, a member of the Wasson's fashion team and graduated from Briarcliff Manor outside New York City with a degree in art. During World War II, she worked as a draftsman in New York City drawing maps for use in the war effort. She married Oliver Maggard, Jr in 1944 and they settled in Indianapolis in 1948. She and Ollie provided a home filled with love and laughter. In 1974, Beth married George Ley and they settled in South Harbor on Morse reservoir. "Camp Ley Ley" was the site of many happy family parties and Beth and George were gracious hosts and wonderful grandparents.

Beth was an accomplished artist and her home was filled with beautiful artwork. Many of her dearest friends were artists who she met each week at various locations over the years to draw, paint and talk. She was an encourager, supporter and cheer leader for her family and just about anyone else she came in contact with. Beth was a member of Northminster Presbyterian Church, the Hamilton County Art League and the Junior League.

Beth is survived by her 5 sons, David Maggard, Jim Maggard (Sally), Jock Maggard (Beverly), Larry Ley and Tom Ley; 11 grandchildren, Jamie , John, James, Juliett, Kirk, Zach, Ian, Geoff, Trish, Abby and Eric; and 9 great grandchildren, Jameson, Anderson, Alice, Phoenix, Everett, Corinne, Idunn, Eir and Gavin.

A celebration of her life will be on Saturday, September 19th at 12:30 PM at Northminster Presbyterian Church, 1660 Kessler Boulevard, Indianapolis, IN 46220.
