Elizabeth Jean Weaver

September 11, 1918 — September 12, 2016

Elizabeth Jean Anderson Weaver passed away on September 12th, one day after her 98th birthday. A first generation American, with her father emigrating from Scotland in 1907, Jean grew up on the northwest side of Indianapolis. She graduated from Shortridge High School where she met the love of her life and husband of 68 years, Mark Weaver. Mark and Jean built a beautiful life together that included a close family of 3 children, 7 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was an army wife during WWII. Jean helped her husband build a successful construction company, developing one of Carmel's first neighborhoods in 1957.

She dedicated her life to bringing joy to those she loved, especially her family. Jean was the center of the family universe; her home was always warm, she was always welcoming and full of joy. She was gracious and a consummate giver-never without time, love, patience or attention to share with her family. She was an avid baker who always had a pie or fresh cookies on hand. Jean was a Charter Member of Woodland Country Club, a life-long golfer and always enjoyed a good game of cards (especially for nickels).

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mark Weaver. She is survived by her three children, Marean Roberts (David), Steven Weaver (Beverly), and Myrna Trump and the remaining extended family which continues to grow each year, carrying on the legacy of this wonderful woman who will never be forgotten.

A private memorial service is Saturday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Arrangements entrusted to A.R.N. Funeral & Cremation Services.
