Emanuel "Manny" Ungar
82, of Carmel, passed away March 20, 2016 in Indianapolis, IN. He was born in Brooklyn, NY to Simon "Sam" Ungar and Rose Eller Roehrig on July 2, 1933. Manny grew up in Coney Island and served in the United States Air Force from 1951 to 1955, where he rose to the rank of Staff Sergeant. He worked for The Queens Group, first in Long Island City, NY and then in Indianapolis for 46 years, retiring as Executive Vice President and Corporate Director of Manufacturing. He also was a 32 Degree Mason.
Manny is survived by his loving wife, Evelyn; sons, Ken (Debbie) Ungar and Scott (Emily) Ungar; and grandchildren, Max, Sam, David, and Thomas Ungar.
Anyone who met Manny would come to learn of his pride in his military service, his pleasure in learning Japanese culture and language, his satisfaction in serving one company for nearly half a century, and the delight from being a father to his sons and grandfather to his grandsons. Manny and Evelyn celebrated 56 years of marriage on March 19, 2016.

A private family funeral service will be held on Tuesday March 22, at the Aaron-Ruben-Nelson Mortuary, 11411 N Michigan Rd. with a private burial to follow.
