Ernestine Greenberger (Dworkin) Feeney passed away at her home at Marquette Senior Living, Indianapolis on November 22, 2018. Born in Sharon, PA on July 1, 1936 to parents Freda and Sidney Greenberger, she was a 1954 graduate of Sharpsville High School and Case Western Reserve University. She was a teacher at Ludlow Elementary School in Shaker Heights, OH in the 1960s and 70s, retiring in 1977. She was a resident of Shaker Heights, OH, Anchorage, AK, Wolfeboro, NH, Treasure Cay, Bahamas, and Indianapolis, IN. She was active in many nonprofit organizations, including the Girl Scouts, Alaska World Affairs Council, Alaska Light Opera Theater, International Women Indiana, and the Wolfeboro Newcomers Club.
She is predeceased by her husband, James Feeney; parents, Freda and Sidney Greenberger; brother, Harvey; and stepsons James, Thomas and David Feeney. She is survived by her children, Jennifer Vigran, James Dworkin and Deborah Thompson; stepchildren, Ronald, Donald, Robert, William, Michael and Kathleen Feeney; and her beloved grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation on Sunday, November 25th at 11:00 a.m. The family requests no flowers; memorial donations may be made to Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation, Marquette Foundation or your local Girl Scout Council.
